0r 34 likes on selfie
or any replies on an instastory -

The make-up noobs
who can't quite draw on
on their own eye-liner
or choose a really nice
lipstick colour

Here's... to the underrate girls.
The ones who work part-time to earn that extra dime
because she knows, in her twenties,
she shouldn't be asking for money.

The ones who wake up without a good morning text
or go to sleep without a goodnight one,
Who cover being lonely
By saying, she's independent

And she tries to be happy
for her best friends with boyfriends
and she attends wedding after wedding
and kepoh makciks keep reminding
her that she's out of time
at every single raya gathering
and she begin to wonder when her so called 'happy ending'
is gonna come because she can't help it of she's not happy
even if she's working on it because she's realised that
happiness, is a destination, and she's hiking her way through,
but that doesn't mean that she can't enjoy the view,
although she's running out of reason why she's more than
her biological clock.

Who feel like they have absolutely no talent,
who feel like they're not made to be on stage

and work better of-scren
and off-stage

without realising that beautiful things don't demand attention

and without the crew

The show simply can't go on ;

Because when the curtain falls and the cue comes in,

The backstage girls are those who know.

Organisation & perfection
is an art they've mastered.

Here's to underrated girls.
who volunteer in their free time,
who understand that a life worth living is a life spent giving,
and so they give, and give, and give,
and they do their best to feel fortunate, grateful, worthy.
